Meet the team

Brian Torres, MA, LMFT

Brian Torres (he/they) is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Angeles, working with clients across California. He is a former mental health and crisis counselor with the Los Angeles LGBT Center and The Trevor Project. He has also served as a consultant and educator on highly sensitive persons (HSPs).

Many of the people Brian works with feel overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck. They often struggle with anxiety, overthinking, or persistent self-doubt, even when things appear steady on the surface. Many are high-achieving or creatively driven, navigating high pressure environments while feeling internally stretched or depleted. His work focuses on helping clients slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and shift these patterns in a more compassionate, sustainable way — so they can feel more grounded, clear, and connected in their lives.

In his clinical practice, Brian specializes in working with LGBTQ+ clients, BIPOC clients, and highly sensitive persons (HSPs). His work is depth-oriented and trauma-informed, drawing from Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and narrative therapy. Rather than focusing only on surface-level change, he works with clients to understand the deeper emotional and relational patterns shaping their experiences.

Brian works with individuals, couples, and relational systems, including non monogamous relationships. He helps clients identify and shift long-standing emotional and relational patterns, particularly those shaped by experiences of race, gender, class, and marginalization.
